Fact-Checking Policy

a) Tulsi News is dedicated to ensuring the publication of accurate information across all of its content. To maintain accuracy, we approach claims with skepticism, question assumptions, and challenge conventional wisdom.

b) We are committed to attaining due accuracy in all our output, a commitment integral to our reputation and the trust of our audiences. The term 'due' emphasizes that accuracy should be sufficient and appropriate for the output, considering the subject and nature of the content, and explicitly noting any constraints that may impact that expectation.

c) This implies that all our output, in alignment with its content and nature, must be well-sourced, grounded in available evidence, and corroborated. We make an effort to be transparent about what we do not know and refrain from engaging in unfounded speculation.

d) Our journalists at Tulsi News do not engage in deliberate plagiarism or distort facts or context, including visual information.

e) We actively seek independent verification from sources to substantiate claims, information, and allegations, particularly those made by public officials or individuals with motives beyond truthful reporting. Claims, allegations, material facts, and other content that cannot be corroborated are normally attributed.

f) Tulsi News stands behind the accuracy of the information it publishes. If proven otherwise, we promptly amend the news item or information. We do not knowingly and substantially mislead our audiences, distort facts, or present invented material as facts, as this could erode trust. We readily acknowledge serious factual errors and correct them swiftly, transparently, and appropriately.

g) We offer a fair opportunity for the public to report any inaccuracies or errors in our reporting through the 'Suggest A Correction' section, which appears at the end of every web story that is published.

h) The primary responsibility of our journalists at Tulsi News is to report, write, and fact-check stories. Stories undergo review by one or more editors, and Tulsi News maintains a multi-level fact-checking structure for stories that require due diligence. The seniority of editors reviewing a story before publication varies based on factors such as complexity, sensitivity, and time constraints.
